Autonomy Corp to buy CA Technologies' Information Governance business

Infrastructure software developer Autonomy Corporation (LON:AU) is set to acquire CA Technologies’ (NASDAQ:CA) Information Governance business to strengthen its position in Meaning Based Governance.

The assets include federated and physical records management product CA Records Manager and CA Message Manager, a solution for capturing and managing all messages according to corporate and regulatory requirements.

The terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

CA Technologies Information Governance customers are expected to benefit from Autonomy's single platform for end-to-end eDiscovery, Archiving, Supervision and Records Management with scalability and advanced multilingual capabilities.

“With the importance of transparency, regulatory oversight and consumer advocacy at an all-time high, the need for an end-to-end solution for Information Governance has never been stronger.  The combination of Autonomy with CA Technologies Information Governance business will further strengthen Autonomy's solutions for the legal, regulatory and investigative markets,” said chief executive of Autonomy iManage Neil Araujo.

The sale is expected to close in Q3 2010. Autonomy said that the transaction is not expected to have a material impact on Autonomy's 2010 prospects or results, neither on revenue nor profits, nor on cash or cash flows of the group.
