Southern Arc hits 2.0 metres of 36.1 g/t gold at West Lombok property

Southern Arc Minerals (CVE:SA) (OTCQX:SOACF) announced Wednesday final drill results from a phase one program at its Waterfall target, part of the Mencanggah prospect on the company's West Lombok property in Indonesia.

At Waterfall, 27 drill holes totalling 6,634 metres were completed, testing for the presence of high-grade shoots at depth. The company said the results confirm multiple vein zones at the target, with the presence of "discrete" high grade shoots developed within the West Lombok epithermal systems.

Highlights include 4.75 metres at 15.6 grams per tonne (g/t) of gold and 15 g/t silver from 168.5 metres, including 2.0 metres at 36.1 g/t gold and 31 g/t silver from 169.7 metres in hole MCG016.

In addition, hole MCG006 returned 1.6 metres of 11.0 g/t gold and 2.6 g/t silver from 122.35 metres.

Along the two kilometres of cumulative vein strike drill tested at Waterfall, the company said the best results appear to be localized on sections of the vein that strike north-northwest, which is the prominent structural control for gold mineralization throughout the property.

At least three north-northwest trending vein segments remain "under-tested for potential high-grade shoot development" and will require more in-fill drilling, Southern Arc added.

Results from Waterfall will be further analyzed with assays from the other Mencanggah and Pelangan targets, for future drilling purposes.

Currently, the company has two rigs drilling on the Jati and Tanjung targets on the Pelangan prospect, where previous exploration identified a continuous 1.5 kilometre-long mineralized epithermal breccia, hosting at least one high grade structure.

Previous drilling intersections include 10.05 metres at 13.4 g/t gold and 8 g/t silver, 9.2 metres at 5.9 g/t gold and 11 g/t silver and 26.2 metres at 4.2 g/t gold, including 3.45 metres of 12.3 g/t gold.
Southern Arc is a Canadian mineral exploration company with a portfolio that includes four exploration projects with epithermal gold and gold-copper porphyry prospects on the Lombok and Sumbawa islands in Indonesia, three of which are being advanced in partnership with major mining companies Vale (NYSE:VALE) and Newcrest (NYSE:NEM).

The West Lombok property covers a 13-kilometre long, northwest-trending structural corridor of mineralization and alteration.
