Tirex Resources (CVE:TXX) reported earlier Tuesday it has appointed lawyer Jeffery Steiner to its advisory board.
Steiner, who served the Government of Canada holding many senior level positions, has a wide range of expertise in the private sector.
Currently, he is the chief executive and president of New Franchise Media Inc., a Film & TV firm founded in 2010.
Before that, Steiner took the helm of the Toronto Economic Development, which specialized in real estate development and waterfront revitalization.
He is a board member of the export credit agency Export Development Canada (EDC), where he serves on EDC's risk management committee.
According to the company's statement, Steiner is knowledgeable about the business climate in Eastern Europe and has network relationships in Albania.
"Steiner's international business and government experience, his understanding of Albania and extensive knowledge of public policy development in established and emerging free marketing economies will be invaluable as Tirex continues to grow," chief executive Bryan Slusarchuk said in a statement.
Vancouver-based Tirex is seeking permits in the areas known as Central Gurthi, North Gurthi, South Gurthi and Letitna zones, as well as Fushe-Arres and Paluca, in Albania.
The company has submitted documentation to the Ministry of Environment and Forestry, and mining plans to the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Energy. The applications received official support from all the host communities where the mining permits are located, the company said.
The large copper-gold-zinc Mirdita project encompasses a 45 kilometre strike line that includes 17 historic deposits, 9 of which became producing mines, with many of them having extensive underground workings.
