The Foreign Language College of Peking University decided to team up with educational service company China Education Alliance (NYSE Amex: CEU) to jointly work on the Practical Oral English Training Project.
The project is aimed at recruiting North American teachers and supply original English materials to create an English only environment for Chinese foreign language students, who tend experience little if any communication with native English speakers, often missing out on the opportunity to acquire even the basic oral communication skills, resulting in inability to hold a simple conversation.
China Education Alliance have championed hiring North American teachers and relying on original English materials as a solution for this problem. It will now assist the Peking University in headhunting North American teachers and supplying students with original English training material.
The parties insist such intense practical language training in an English only environment can help the students achieve fluency in English within just a year.
