Eleckra Mines kicks off drilling at Yamarna Gold Project

Eleckra Mines (ASX: EKM) has commenced the 7,000 metre RC drilling program at its 100%-owned Yamarna Gold Project.

The Yamarna Project is located approximately 150 kilometres east of Laverton on the eastern edge of the Yilgarn Craton and within the Yamarna Greenstone Belt, Western Australia.

Eleckra intends to carry out follow-up drilling program at the high grade Central Bore prospect as well as its maiden RC drilling program at the neighbouring Hann and Byzantium prospects.

The company anticipates that the first assay results will be received and reported in mid-May 2010.

The company said another exciting development is the very high gold results returned from a channel soil survey carried out in February and March 2010 at the Hann prospect.

Eleckra carried out detailed 1-metre-channel soil sampling over selective gold anomalies identified in the December 2009 survey at the Hann southern grid.

The batch of 988 samples returned excellent gold assay results with up to 429g/t Au, 16g/t Au, 8.4g/t Au, 2.1g/t Au and 1.3g/t Au, each over 1 metre sample intervals.

The current results are indicative of numerous mineralised zones and indicate the presence of coarse gold at Hann prospect.

The assay results from a further 800 samples are expected to be received within two weeks.
