Kentor Gold hits 8.1m at 2.56% copper in first drilling at Jervois

Kentor Gold (ASX: KGL) has intersected significant copper and silver in the first three diamond holes at the Jervois project in the Northern Territory.

The intersections are below the existing resource at the Reward deposit, with the highlight 8.1 metres at 2.56% copper and 13.45 grams per tonne (g/t) silver.

Simon Milroy, managing director, added "These results confirm that high grade mineralisation is present at least 150 metres below the 200 metre base of the existing resource at Reward.

"We now have increased confidence that we will be able to establish a considerably larger Resource than our initial estimate, and that Jervois has the potential to be a major mine."

Kentor only acquired Jervois in May this year, and has already delivered a maiden Inferred JORC Resource of 8.8 million tonnes at 1.3% copper and 26.7g/t silver, which provides 113,000 tonnes of contained copper and 7.6 million ounces of contained silver.

An additional four diamond holes have been completed at Jervois, which Kentor said all encountered sulphide mineralisation - with results still pending, providing the potential for another boost at the project.

The diamond rig has now moved to the Green Parrot deposit at Jervois, where four holes will be drilled below the existing open pit, which will kick off in September.

Kentor has already identified the potential to increase the subsection of the lead-zinc-silver mineralisation within Green Parrot, which comprises; 1 million tonnes at 2.6% lead, 2.2% zinc and 73g/t silver.

After this drilling, Kentor will then prepare an updated resource estimate.

The acquisition of Jinka Minerals

Jervois forms part of a bigger acquisition made by Kentor earlier in the year, when the company completed a $7.8 million in cash takeover of Jinka Minerals.

The acquisition provides a very interesting portfolio of projects, which are within reasonable proximity to established infrastructure.

The projects include:

- The Burnakura Gold Project, located 50 kilometres south of Meekatharra;
- The Gabanintha Copper-Gold Project, located 45 kilometres south-east of Meekatharra; and
- The Jervois Base Metals Project, located 280 kilometres north-east of Alice Springs.
