Tarsis Resources (CVE:TCC) announced Wednesday several operational updates for its exploration activities in the Yukon, including the discovery of a new zone at its White River property.
A sampling program at the White River property, wholly owned by Tarsis and located in the southwestern region of the Yukon, found gold values ranging from 0.02 grams per tonne (g/t) to 18.9 g/t, silver values between 2.25 g/t and 595 g/t, and copper values from 146 parts per million (ppm) to 22.1%.
This area has been named the Cool Zone and is located approximately 500 metres north of the HG zone at White River.
Tarsis said it intends to carry out a detailed lineament analysis, followed by hand trenching and infill soil sampling once the remaining sampling results are received.
The Vancouver, B.C.-based company also announced that drilling is currently underway at its Prospector Mountain property, which is currently under option to Silver Quest Resources.
Silver Quest, which has the option to earn an initial 60% interest in the property by making cash and share payments and by funding exploration work, has begun a 4,000-metre drill program on the property and has contracted a helicopter-borne magnetic and radiometric survey.
At Tarsis' wholly owned Rogue property, located in the Selwyn Basin in eastern Yukon, the first phase of prospecting and sampling has been completed. Tarsis said it expects results to be received within the next 30 days.
Meanwhile, preliminary prospecting at Tarsis' 100% owned 3,900-hectare Rosie property identified a malachite zone, a copper mineral, and a galena zone, a lead mineral.
Mapping and stream sampling were also carried out on the property, located in the central region of the Yukon, with results to be reported when received, it said.
The company also said preliminary prospecting and mapping have been completed on its Burns property, also in central Yukon. A sampling crew is currently collecting approximately 500 soil samples from a west-facing slope where elevated gold, copper and silver values were found during a 2010 prospecting campaign.
