Predictive Discovery (ASX: PDI) is poised to deliver an extensive flow of gold drilling results in coming months from Burkina Faso , with the company launching an extensive drilling campaign at the Bonsiega and Bangaba Projects.
The goal of the campaign will be to define a maiden gold resource by the September quarter of 2012.
The program comprises 18,000 metres of reverse circulation, 5000 metres of diamond and 30,000 of power auger drilling to start in November 2011, with discussions underway for another 15,000 metres of reverse circulation.
What is so significant about the drilling, is the program is following up previous high grade intersections, and in some cases such as the 2 metres at 56 grams per tonne (g/t) gold from 65 metres - bonanza grade hits.
Paul Roberts, managing director, commented “Predictive Discovery is very pleased to get the new season exploration program underway in Burkina Faso.
"Building on a base of highly encouraging reverse circulation and power auger drill results in Burkina Faso in the last field season, the company aims to first understand gold mineralisation continuity in a number of high priority prospects and then drill out at least one maiden resource in the next 12 months.”
Field work re‐started earlier in the month with the commencement of geological mapping on the Boussouma Project, with geological mapping and camp construction work is being progressively expanded to other project areas in the coming weeks.
The timing of the drilling program has been determined mainly by post rainy season crop clearing on the company’s permits.
Bangaba Project - two prospects
Initially power auger drilling at the Bangaba Project will focus on structural targets along strike from the 7 kilometre Golden Rim (ASX: GMR) soil anomaly, and will follow-up high grade hits at two prospects.
At Solna, previous intersections by Predictive include 2 metres at 56g/t gold from 65 metres, and 7 metres at 13g/t gold from 117 metres.
At the Tambiri, the company has already discovered 5 metres at 17.1g/t gold from 96 metres, and 9 metres at 2.6g/t gold from 96 metres.
Bonsiega Project - untested bedrock gold anomalies
Action at the Bonsiega Project – Laterite Hill Grid will target more than 14 kilometres of untested bedrock gold anomalies where Predictive previously intersected some broad mineralisation at the Dave and Dave East Prospects.
Highlights included 26 metres at 2.7g/t gold from 22 metres, 46 metres at 1.4g/t gold from 16 metres, and 14 metres at 3.7g/t gold from 66 metres.
Benmara Uranium Exploration in the Northern Territory
In other Predictive news, the company commenced a 2000 metre reverse circulation and diamond drilling program at the Benmara Project earlier in the month, which is located in the Northern Territory.
Drilling is testing up to four priority target areas where strong geological
similarities exist with uranium mineralised positions in the Westmoreland Uranium field.
