Li Ning, the sports brand controlled by the Chinese Olympic gymnast who lit last year's Olympic flame (pictured), opened the brand's first store outside of China in Singapore on Monday. According to reports, the company plans to open up to 100 stores in south-east Asia within the next year.
Li Ning opened the company's first store outside of China in Singapore on Monday, in the city's newest shopping mall, Ion Orchard.
The company recently acquired badminton equipment manufacturer Kason Sports (Hong Kong) for RMB165m. Badmington is the second most popular sport in China. In April, Lin Ning reached an agreement with the Chinese Badmington team to be completely kitted up in Li Ning products.
