Predictive Discovery (ASX: PDI) has extended the strike length of the Solna gold mineralised system on the Bangaba Project to 650 metres, an additional 160 kilometres of strike.
Assays received from four reverse circulation holes drilled at Solna in November include 6 metres at 12 grams per tonne (g/t) gold from 40 metres, including 2 metres at 31g/t, and 10 metres at 0.9g/t gold from 49 metres, including 1 metre at 4.6g/t.
Managing director Paul Roberts said Predictive Discovery is encouraged by these latest results which indicate that the Solna gold mineralised system extends well beyond the current artisanal mining area.
“Recent drill results provide additional support for the concept that the Solna Prospect is intrinsically high grade,” he said.
“The results of all PDI’s RC drilling to date when combined with the power auger geochemistry indicates potential for a substantial high grade gold deposit in the Solna area.”
Mineralisation remains open both along strike and at depth.
The arithmetic (uncut) average of plus 1g/t gold intercepts from the nine reverse circulation holes is 2.7 metres at 13g/t gold, suggesting that the Solna prospect is intrinsically high grade.
Power auger sampling identified a 2.6 kilometre strike length of plus 50 parts per billion gold anomalies along the Solna trend extending the mineralised system by 2 kilometres.
An additional, narrow, 1.7 kilometre long power auger gold anomaly was also discovered south‐west of Solna.
Nine diamond drill holes, totalling 1,083 metres, were completed in November and December. The majority of holes were drilled at shallow targets but none intersected artisanal workings, suggesting that the extent of ore removal by artisanal miners is less than previously anticipated.
Previous reverse circulation drilling at Solna by Predictive Discovery in May returned high grade assays of 2 metres at 56g/t gold from 65 metres, 7 metres at 13g/t gold from 117 metres and 2 metres at 10g/t gold from 134 metres.
Bangaba
The Bangaba Project covers areas of extensive artisanal mining. Significant quantities of gold have been produced at Bangaba for some 27 years and cumulative gold production is estimated to be several tonnes or more.
Permit‐wide mapping has shown that the known workings are located on two large structures on the north‐west and south‐east contacts of a diorite‐granodiorite body.
These contact zones are largely hidden beneath shallow cover and are each over 10 kilometres long within the permit. There is considerable potential for the discovery of additional zones of high grade mineralisation in these areas.
Predictive Discovery is earning a 95% interest in the 128 square kilometre Bangaba exploration permit with the company’s equity in the project currently at 51%.
