Ventnor Resources: assays reaffirm the discovery of broad copper zones at Thaduna

Ventnor Resources (ASX: VRX) has received assays from a previously reported phase three drilling program confirming broad zones of primary copper mineralisation at the Thaduna prospect in the Doolgunna district of Western Australia.

Best intersections include 19 metres at 1.57% copper and 8.2 grams per tonne (g/t) silver from 183 metres, 21 metres at 1.43% copper and 2.3g/t silver from 200 metres and 23 metres at 1.03% copper and 1.3g/t silver from 134 metres.

Diamond tails have been completed in one holw to 342.3 metres and another hole down dip to 405.7 metres with assays pending following logging, cutting and scanning of the core.

Scans indicate that the observed primary mineralisation is predominately single sulphide chalcopyrite with expectations of high recoveries in a float circuit.

Ventnor is still awaiting results for 86 holes.

The company began the third phase of drilling at its Thaduna and Green Dragon Copper prospects in October 2011 to determine a copper Resource at both prospects.

The program was planned to determine a JORC Resource to a nominal 200 metres vertical depth, however, previously reported deeper intersected chalcopyrite meant the program has been extended and will re-commence this month.

A JORC Resource will be estimated following completion of the extended program which is likely to be in the June quarter 2012.
