Snipp launches Thanksgiving-themed campaign for 'Face-in-the-Hole' service

Mobile marketing services firm Snipp Interactive (CVE:SPN) has launched a Thanksgiving-themed campaign for its 'Face-in-the-Hole' service  - an interactive mobile photo experience developed by the company.
Users can submit a photo of their face (or someone else's) and Snipp's technology will automatically interpose their face onto an alternate background and send back the resultant photo. The technology was built to allow marketers to use photo sharing by mobile phone users to build their brands.
The result is similar to poking your head through a cardboard cutout caricature in a country fair and having your photo taken.
But Snipp said its Face in the Hole services has the added benefit of allowing users to share the photos easily with their friends through Facebook, Twitter and by email. The technology is app-free and works on all phones, not just smartphones.
It also “works seamlessly” within the company’s existing Snipp technology to enable clients to create “even stronger and socially engaging” customer interactions.
For Thanksgiving, Snipp has created a set of images representative of the holiday, similar to the previous campaigns it released for the Fourth of July and Halloween.
Mobile users in the United States can participate in the campaign by sending a photo of their face and the word "FACE" by messaging (MMS) to 76477. Users outside the United States can email the photo to face@snipp.com.
Through Snipp's 'Face-in-the-Hole' service, brands can take advantage of the growing interest in mobile photo sharing, but "with increased control of the customer experience by the brand."
"We're thankful this Thanksgiving to have such a great team who consistently create innovative mobile technologies," said CEO Atul Sabharwal.
"To celebrate the holiday, we wanted to highlight the power of our image recognition technology in a fun and social way. This technology will be extremely beneficial to our clients both present and future."
Snipp provides print publishers, advertising agencies and corporate/consumer brands with a full suite of mobile marketing services in North America. Its 'Mobilize Me' platform supports many input mechanisms for mobilizing marketing campaigns for companies, including text message, QR codes, Microsoft (NASDAQ:MSFT) tags and Snapp tags.
Headquartered in Washington, D.C. and established in 2007, the company has provided its services to several Fortune 500 companies and other major brands, advertising agencies and publishers, including Wal-Mart (NYSE:WMT), ESPN, Time Inc, Ford (NYSE:F), Nike (NYSE:NKE), Wendy's (NASDAQ:WEN) and Campbell Soup (NYSE:CPB).
Earlier this month, the mobile marketing services firm signed another strategic sales and marketing memorandum of understanding with Deedod, a national provider of digital media services.
The news came one day after it inked a memorandum of understanding agreement with MDB Communications, a full service advertising and marketing communications firm.
