Step out drilling at Kootenay Gold’s Promontorio Silver Project hits high grade silver-lead-zinc over 3 meters

Canada and Mexico focused mineral exploration junior, Kootenay Gold (TSX-V: KTN) reported further encouraging step out drill results from its Promontorio Silver Project in Sonora, Mexico.  The highlight of the step out drill results was a 3 meter intercept in drill hole KP-64 which returned 551 grams per tonne (g/t) silver, 0.63 g/t gold and 20% combined lead-zinc.

Kootenay noted that the results released showed similarities to the Main Pit Zone where the company discovered brecciated silver-gold-lead-zinc mineralization in drill hole KP-58 in a step out to the south-west.

The mineral exploration company also released highlights from a 43-101 technical report for Promontorio, which highlighted the property “is highly prospective for large low to intermediate sulphidation epithermal systems that may have developed in close proximity to a shallow level porphyry system.” The report went on to state that additional discoveries were very likely.

Kootenay has now completed 13 diamond drill holes, or approximately 4,270 meters of drilling, over four areas at Promontorio.

At the Main Pit Zone, drill hole KP-58 intersected 46.5 meters of 0.71 g/t gold, 71 g/t silver and 2.09 % lead-zinc.
The first two holes drilled at the Ranch EM anomaly confirmed the presence of mineralization.  KP 64 intersected 3.0 meters of 0.63 g/t gold, 551 g/t silver and 20% combined lead-zinc and KP 60 cut 18 meters of 0.58 g/t gold, 13 g/t silver and 0.68% lead-zinc including 2.0 meters 1.49 g/t gold, 26 g/t silver and 1.24 % lead-zinc.
Two holes were also completed along strike to the Dorotea discovery; KP 68 intersected 6.0 meters of 1.56 g/t gold, 26 g/t silver and 1.71 % lead-zinc and KP 67 recorded 10.5 meters of 0.97 g/t gold, 31 g/t silver and 0.65 % lead-zinc; including 3.0 meters of 1.83 g/t gold, 58 g/t silver and 0.98 % lead-zinc.
Assay results are pending for KP-70 and KP-71 which were drilling around 1000 meters and 600 meters north-west of the Dorotea discovery.  http://www.proactiveinvestors.com/companies/news/3656/step-out-drilling-at-kootenay-golds-promontorio-silver-project-hits-high-grade-silver-lead-zinc-over-3-meters-3656.html
