Clarity Commerce Solutions (AIM: CCS) has won a multi-million pound contract from Alton Tower’s parent-company, Merlin Entertainments Group to install its ClarityLive points of sale software. Other attractions owned by Merlin include Madame Tussauds, Chessington World of Adventures, London Eye, HeidePark, Alton Towers Resort and Legoland.
Clarity said the contract cements the group's position as the leading supplier of point of sale and related solutions for the amusement park sector. “This contract win demonstrates how this approach can succeed in difficult economic times and in the face of stiff competition”, Clarity Commerce CEO Ken Smith commented. "Clarity's mission is to work in partnership with its customers in order to deliver products and services which help them to enhance their own customers' buying experience”.
The ClarityLive software suite will be deployed throughout Merlin’s operations on a phased roll-out planned over four years. The contract covers both hospitality and retail locations. ClarityLive consists of point-of-sale (POS), inventory and management reporting software.
“Clarity have impressed us with their knowledge of retail trading in the unique environment of the visitor attractions market coupled with their understanding of the need to work alongside our teams in creating flexible, reliable and robust system solutions”, Merlin’s IT Director Chris Dare said. “We look forward to developing this partnership in the future to ensure we optimise the commercial opportunities in delivering for our 38 million guests".
The multi-million pound contract is subject to the successful roll out of Merlin's Gardaland theme park in Italy which is expected to go live in April 2010. http://www.proactiveinvestors.co.uk/companies/news/13540/clarity-commerce-wins-multi-million-pound-contract-from-merlin-entertainment-13540.html
