Gryphon Minerals (ASX: GRY) has appointed Timothy Holt as chief financial officer.
Holt has a track record of more than 10 years senior operational finance experience with both Xstrata (LON: XTA) and BHP Billiton (ASX: BHP).
Holt will be replacing Brett Dunnachie who will remain with the organisation as company secretary.
Gryphon is progressing into mining studies, development and ultimately production at its Banfora Gold Project in Burkina Faso, and is looking to leverage its position to expand in West Africa.
The company is aiming to become a significant West African gold producer and the first Australian miner to produce gold in Burkina Faso.
In early 2011 Gryphon announced an increase to the JORC Inferred Resource estimate at Banfora, which now stands at 29 million tonnes at 2.1 grams per tonne (g/t) for 2 million onces gold.
