Morning news wrap: Pearson, ENRC, Scottish & Southern Energy, Autonomy Corp, Xstrata

In the FTSE 100, education and information group Pearson (LSE: PSON) has acquired Medley Global Advisors, which provides policy intelligence to investment banks, hedge funds and asset managers.
Base metal miner Eurasian Natural Resources (LSE: ENRC) said that pellet production doubled in Q4 from Q4 2008, whilst saleable concentrate production rose 57.5%. Against Q3 2009, pellet production increased 23.4%, while saleable concentrate production decreased 24.1%.
Scottish and Southern Energy (LSE: SSE) said it was on track to deliver financial and operational goals for the period to 31 March 2010 set out in its financial report in November.
Software developer Autonomy Corporation (LSE: AU) reported full year revenues of US$740 million, which is a 47% improvement from 2008 including an organic growth of 16%. Pre-tax profits jumped 55% to US$323 million.
Xstrata (LSE: XTA) has renewed a three year collective agreement with Canadian Auto Workers Sudbury Mine, Mill and Smelter Workers Union Local Union, representing production and maintenance employees at its operations in Sudbury.
In AIM, Turkey and Ethiopia operating gold miner Stratex International (AIM: STI) has signed a definitive agreement with private Turkish company NTF Insaat Ticaret for the development of Inlice and Altintepe oxide gold deposits.
Iron ore focused investor Red Rock Resources (AIM: RRR) said that all voting, sale and co-operation arrangements and understandings with Pallinghurst Resources Australia Limited in relation to shareholdings of Red Rock and Pallinghurst in Jupiter Mines (ASX: JMS) have been terminated.
Mobile email and data synchronisation group Synchronica PLC (AIM: SYNC) said that its partners received an initial purchase order for 20,000 MessagePhone mobile devices from an operator from one of its target emerging markets.
Novel pesticides and plant nutritional products developer Plant Impact (AIM: PIM) announced positive findings from studies conducted by the US Department of Agriculture into the effectiveness into its yield-maximising PiNT technology at improving plant quality at different nitrogen rates.
