Mobile email and data synchronisation provider Synchronica (AIM: SYNC) finished 2009 strongly with several deals completed during December. In a trading update for the 12 months ended 31 December 2009, the company revealed it had won new contacts with eight mobile operators in its targeted developing markets. As a result Synchronica’s ‘Mobile Gateway’ push email product was added a total of thirteen operators in the year.
Upon receipt of the final documentation for a major order, which was delivered at the end of December, Synchronica expects revenues to reach £4.5 million for the full year, in line with expectations.
The company’s email and synchronization product Mobile Gateway is a multi-protocol gateway combining Push IMAP, SyncML, Email-to-MMS and Email-to-SMS, which subsequently delivers push email and synchronization to all mobile phones currently on the market.
The company recently said it is looking to build on the strong performance into 2010, which Synchronica called ‘a year of mobile internet revolution’ in emerging markets. In 2010 the company is projecting dramatic growth in the use of mobile-email, which is the core segment of the company’s business.
According to Synchronica, the ongoing economic recovery is expected to gain speed in 2010, prompting mobile operators explore new revenue streams. Data services are expected to play an increasingly important role with mobile messaging expanding to encompass mobile email, mobile social networking and instant messaging. http://www.proactiveinvestors.co.uk/companies/news/12785/synchronica-eyes-fy09-revenues-of-45m-as-its-expands-client-base-into-year-end-12785.html
