Empire Resources (ASX: ERL), the current owner of E52/2095 (the Yarlaweelor Uranium Project), has informed Freedom Eye (ASX: FYI) that a drilling program at the Yarlarweelor Uranium Project is expected to commence on 2 April 2010.
Exploration licence E52/2095, which covers an area of 492sq km, is situated 125 km north of Meekatharra in Western Australia.
Previous drilling on E52/2095 undertaken in the late 1970’s and early 1980’s demonstrated uranium mineralisation is open along strike and at depth in three zones within E52/2095.
Grades identified by this previous drilling activity were up to 21 metres @ 404ppm U3O8 from 143m downhole including 8 metres at 708ppm U3O8.
Details of the previous drilling are reported in the Freedom Eye Limited Prospectus dated 27 November 2009.
The diamond core drilling program scheduled to commence on 2 April 2010 is designed to confirm the uranium mineralisation located in the previously drilled percussion holes, with a further drilling program planned for the June quarter to further test known occurrences as well as more recently identified radiometric anomalies within the tenement.
The Yarlarweelor Uranium project is currently the subject of a transaction between Empire Resources and Freedom Eye, whereby Freedom Eye is acquiring the project.
