Dreams ranks #5 in Retail Online Integration's list of top 100 US cross-channel retailers

Licensed sports products retailer Dreams (AMEX:DRJ) said Wednesday it has been ranked number five in industry magazine Retail Online Integration's annual list of the top 100 fastest-growing US cross-channel retailers.

The company has steadily risen in ranks across the retail sector since its purchase of FansEdge.com in 2003.

Retail Online Integration’s ranking, based on Dreams’ year-over-year net sales growth of over 30% in fiscal year 2010, placed the sports retailer just below Amazon.com.

Dreams' e-commerce division, which includes FansEdge.com and other websites, has been an increasing focus for the firm.  The division manages over 65 online fan shops, selling licensed sports merchandise from the NFL, NHL, NBA, MLB, and NCAA.

"Our top five position on Retail Online Integration’s first annual list affirms the strength of our flagship FansEdge brand and its complement of Web properties, which alone grew 42% in 2010,” said founder of FansEdge.com, and president of Dreams' retail division, Kevin Bates.

"This momentum has continued into 2011 with our first quarter e-commerce revenues up more than 52%."

The ranking in the industry mag follows Dreams' recent climb in the ranks of Internet Retailer Magazine's list of the top 500 web-based retailers, as it landed at number 181 in late May.

Last year, the Florida-based company's flagship website, FansEdge.com, was placed at number 198 of 500, jumping up 17 spots.

Today's announcement highlights Dreams' ever-increasing presence on the web. Retail Online Integration is published monthly by North American Publishing Co. in Philadelphia, and provides readers with information, case studies and advice on e-commerce, fulfillment, merchandising, database marketing, and more.
