Cardia Technologies' mining unit has promising uranium results in Botswana

Cam Bow, Botswana based subsidiary of Cardia Technologies (ASX: CNN), holds 11 uranium and base metal prospecting licences.

Ground Exploration commenced with a field team currently conducting ground surveys, geo-chemistry and work-chip sampling following the anomalies identified by the Company’s aeromagnetic results reported late last year and by Falconbridge and Urangesellshaft in the 1970’s.

A follow-up ground evaluation and work program has been conducted in the June quarter of 2009 over 5 of the 11 uranium prospecting licences in Botswana and the subsequent interpretation of 8 target areas exhibiting anomalous uranium
responses.

Preliminary results have confirmed the radiometric response identified from the airborne survey, and suggest a near surface source of mineralisation. The anomaly appears to be laterally extensive with the central portion extending 3km E-W and 1km NS. Surface rockchip samples from Ntsokota were sent to an independent laboratory in Johannesburg and analysed via pressed pellet XRF.

The encouraging results from the ground work conducted during the quarter and the growing knowledge of the company’s licensed areas will lead to a review of Cardia’s exploration plans during the balance of 2009.

In May, Cardia placed 80 million shares at 2.7 cents per share to investors to raise $2.2 million.
