Plant Health Care rated as one of Top 20 sustainable companies by sustainablebusiness.com

Plant Health Care PLC (AIM: PHC.L), a provider of natural products to the agriculture and landscape industries, said it has been selected as one of the world's most sustainable businesses by sustainablebusiness.com, and was included in the 2009 Sustainable Business 20 List.

Other companies selected in the SB20 include Google, IBM and Timberland.

The 8th annual SB20 list, published by sustainablebusiness.com which tracks and analyses green stocks, consists of 20 public companies that have the potential to greatly impact the goal of reaching a sustainable economy, the company said in a statement.

The 20 companies where chosen by a group of judges, who are among the most respected green stock analysts in the world.

Judges were looking for companies with a very strong ‘green story’, with the ability to have widespread influence. Companies must have made major announcements and/or significant progress in meeting targets over the past year, Plant Health Care said.

Companies chosen would be preferably profitable with strong management and balance sheets. Development stage companies needed to have revenue and be on track to profitability. Each company would enhance an investment portfolio although it may not be in a buying position today.

Plant Health Care CEO John Brady said: “We are very pleased to be considered amongst this very elite group. Providing natural products which promote plant growth, health and yield with environmental care has always been our guiding principle. As recognised by this award, our products are ideally suited to help solve the problems associated with a growing world population and a limited amount of productive agricultural land.”
