Bayfield Ventures promotes Marvin to VP of exploration

Vancouver-based Bayfield Ventures (CVE:BYV) said Thursday it has promoted Robert Marvin to vice president of exploration for the company. Marvin previously held the position of exploration manager for Bayfield's Rainy River gold project in northwestern Ontario since January 2010.
Marvin has experience in project exploration and development, throughout the Americas. He has been involved in mineral exploration for gold, copper, zinc, and uranium deposits, both along the entire Cordillera and in several areas of the Archean shield as an employee and as an independent consultant since 1979.
He graduated from the University of New Mexico, with a Bachelor of Science degree in geology in 1984. Marvin will remain as the company's "Qualified Person under National Instrument 43-101" and will continue to oversee Bayfield's Rainy River project.
"As Exploration Manager, Bob has been instrumental in the company's exploration success thus far on the Rainy River Project," said company president, Don Huston.
"He has been responsible for the exploration planning, implementation and geological analysis of the first 60,000 metres of Bayfield's current 100,000 metre drill program. We are pleased to promote Bob to VP of Exploration for the Company and look forward to continuing to work with him as we advance our projects in the Rainy River District."
In late September, Bayfield announced additional significant silver intercepts on its 100%-owned Burns Block property in the Rainy River District of north-western Ontario. Of the intercepts, the company encountered 1,414.55 grams per tonne (g/t) silver over 1.10 metres in hole RR10-52, occuring with previously reported 89.95 g/t gold.
The Burns Block is situated adjacent to the east and on strike to Rainy River Resources' (CVE:RR) multi-million ounce gold deposit.
