Digital Shelf beats targets for GSP RUSHFIT DVD series in Canada, for sale in over 4,000 stores

Digital Shelf Space (CVE:DSS)(OTCQX:DTSRF) said Thursday that as of the end of the third quarter, its GSP RUSHFIT DVD home workout series has now been placed in over 4,000 stores across Canada, beating the company's own targets.
Investors cheered the news, with shares of the company rising over seven percent, to trade at 15 cents as of 10:23am EST Thursday.
The GSP RUSHFIT DVD series starts the Montreal-based Mixed Martial Arts (MMA), World Welterweight Champion, Georges St-Pierre, and is designed to appeal to those with an interest in MMA and MMA training methods, for a complete and efficient home fitness workout program, with minimal equipment.
The videos use various MMA conditioning exercises, intense circuit style training and body weight training for fitness consumers to build muscle, cut weight and get in shape.
"Having gained this kind of traction in the Canadian retail marketplace in only 9 months since having launched our GSP RUSHFIT workout series, is a tremendous achievement for DSS," said president and CEO, Jeffrey Sharpe.
"We have an incredible global distribution partner who have not only helped secure this amazing level of Canadian retail penetration, but also have successfully opened the doors with US and international retail, extending the brand beyond North America."
Indeed, the GSP RUSHFIT DVD series is now represented in more than 90 countries around the world, through Digital Shelf's global distribution agreement with Northern Response.
The workout series is already carred in the US by The Sports Authority, with the latest retailer Academy Sports and Outdoors added last week. It is also sold in Canada by major retailers including Sears Canada, Zellers, Walmart, Future Shop, National Sports, Sports Experts, Sport Check, Best Buy, and Canadian Tire.
VP of marketing and business development, David Bogart, added: "We are very pleased that Canadian retail interest in GSP RUSHFIT has been so strong that retailers moved aggressively to list the home-based fitness training DVD series in advance of our national TV advertising campaign.
"Several national retail accounts, totaling over 4000 stores, have been receiving their stock and are supporting it with in-store merchandising initiatives."
The GSP RUSHFIT DVD series has surpassed Digital Shelf's initial estimate of 3,000 stores by the end of the third quarter by more than 35 percent, now capturing over 80 percent of the key Canadian retail distribution channels available, Bogard continued.
In the six months ending June 30, Digital Shelf generated sales of $1.14 million. Second quarter sales rose 3.6% sequentially, to $582,251 over the first quarter. These numbers are expected to improve further in the second half, as the number of stores selling GSP RUSHFIT continues to increase. Over 25,000 copies of the DVD series have already been sold.
The product can also be purchased through the GSP RUSHFIT website (www.gsprushfit.com).
