The significance of the final assays for Kentor Gold (ASX: KGL) at the Jervois Project in the Northern Territory, is that they confirm the potential for a significant multi-metal project.
The results continue to indicate significant mineralisation below the Green Parrot Deposit and north of the Bellbird Deposit.
The latest highlights from Green Parrot include 4.30 metres at 1.70% copper, 8.49% lead, 1.02% zinc, 361.95 grams per tonne (g/t) silver and 0.06g/t gold from 70.70 metres, which includes the very high grade 1.7 metres at 17.91% lead.
At Bellbird, drilling confirmed the continuation of the northern extent of the Bellbird mineralisation with the best intercept being 3.40 metres at 6.39% copper, 45.57g/t silver and 0.12g/t gold from 309 metres.
Jervois already hosts an Inferred JORC Resource over four prospects, Green Parrot, Bellbird, Reward and Bellbird North, which is 8.8 million tonnes at 1.3% copper and 26.7g/t silver, for 113,000 tonnes of contained copper and 7.5 million silver ounces.
What boosts the potential at the deposit for future upgrades is the resource is limited to just 200 meters below the surface.
Opportunity to expand resources
The outcome from the latest results - combined with previously reported intersections - indicate a significant opportunity for Kentor to expand the northern extension of the existing resource at Bellbird.
Simon Milroy, managing director, commented, “These results continue to point the way to the development of a major multi-metal mine.
“We are greatly encouraged by the sustained high grades of copper and silver, the increasing continuity of the overall 12 kilometre strike length, the mineralisation at depth, and the presence of other metals.”
Resource update planned
The accurate survey of drill hole collars, historical mining features and other prospect features will be undertaken within the next few weeks in preparation for an updated resource estimate.
