Junior mineral explorer Tirex Resources (CVE:TXX) reported on Monday that it would be attending the Canada-Albania Business Council’s trade mission to Albania.
The event is scheduled for November 1 and 2 at the Tirana International Hotel, in Albania.
Canada's delegation to the event will include Ambassador James Fox, and Harry Bloomfield, president of Canada-Albania Business Council, as well as Abby Badwi, chairman Canada-Albania Business Council and chief executive of Bankers Petroleum (TSE:BNK).
Tirex said that its chief executive, Bryan Slusarchuk, will represent the company at two panels, the first being “Business in Albania: Energy and Mining” on November 2 at 9:40am, which is being chaired by Abby Badwi, and the second being a panel titled “Investing and Working in Albania” being chaired by Mr. George Tadros, projects director, energy, CIMA+.
For the first panel, Tirex said it would be the sole mining company represented, while all the other panelists are Canadian oil and gas companies.
In addition to the trade mission, the company said it would conduct many institutional meetings at the end of November in Europe and North America within the mineral exploration and development sector.
Tirex has invested more than $25 million in the exploration of the Mirdita Volcanogenic Massive Sulphide District located in northern Albania. After 4 years of exploration work and $25 million spent, Tirex has now applied to transition six areas of Mirdita from exploration to production.
Vancouver-based Tirex is seeking permits in the areas known as Central Gurthi, North Gurthi, South Gurthi and Letitna zones, as well as Fushe-Arres and Paluca.
Tirex said it submitted comprehensive documentation to the Ministry of Environment and Forestry, as well as mining plans to the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Energy.
Tirex is an exploration-stage company exploring and developing natural resource properties in Albania. It is explores for various metals like copper, zinc, gold and silver.
Shares of Tirex Resources went up 2 cents, or 2.94 percent rising to 70 cents Monday afternoon on the junior Toronto Stock Exchange.
