Horseshoe Metals confirms copper at Kumarina Project, just down the road from DeGrussa

Horseshoe Metals (ASX: HOR) has confirmed the occurrence of copper mineralisation at its 100%-owned Kumarina Project, adjacent to its Horseshoe Light project, where earlier in the year the company hit 15 metres at 5.1% copper, highlighting the prospectivity of the deposit.

Further supporting the region as a potential new major copper belt, the massive DeGrussa project is just 40 kilometres downstrike, while next door neighbour Sipa Resources (ASX: SRI) has also delivered some high-grade copper hits of late.

The field program at Kumarina, carried out in September, involved rock chip and soil analysis using a field portable X-Ray Fluorescence analyser and mapping of existing workings and outcrop in selected areas.

Results from the program confirmed the presence of copper mineralisation within the zones of historical workings and have been used to refine the planned drilling program.

A Gradient Array Induced Polarity survey was also carried out in September over two high priority targets to test for chargeable zones which could host copper mineralisation.

A reverse circulation percussion drilling program will commence on the site in October 2011.
