Metaliko Resources identifies gold below historical workings at Baden Powell

Metaliko Resources’ (ASX: MKO) initial drilling program at the Baden Powell Gold Project has intersected up to 14 metres mineralisation.

Baden Powell is one of three advanced gold prospects and eight aeromagnetic targets within the Windanya Project in the Eastern Goldfields of Western Australia, located 50 kilometres north of Kalgoorlie.

The 14 hole reverse circulation program focused on a shallow test mining pit from the 1980s, where 913 tonnes of ore at 3.4 grams per tonne (g/t) gold was recovered.

Results included:

- 14 metres at 1.25 g/t gold from 23 metres; and
- 12 metres at 1.05g/t gold 19 metres.

The broadest intercept of up to 14 metres extends from the base of the test pit to 90 metres, and remains open at depth. This continuity of mineralisation at depth is encouraging.

Further drilling will be required to establish a Resource for Baden Powell.

Seven Seas drilling complete

Metaliko has completed the initial drilling program at the Seven Seas Project, with results expected within the next fortnight.

The Seven Seas project area has been the subject of historical exploration, primarily between 1980 and 2000.

Previously, the clay-prone soils and shallow part of the regolith caused problems for exploration.

In the June quarter, Metaliko identified a more consistent gold trend in the deeper regolith and bedrock, collating data from more than 800 rotary air blast and reverse circulation drill holes.

Consistent trends of gold anomalism from 0.1g/t gold to 16.7g/t gold were shown.
