Orosur Mining: Drilling underway at Anillo

Orosur Mining (LON:OMI, TSE:OMI) has kicked off drilling at its Anillo gold-silver prospect in northern Chile.
The company said that drilling began on May 23, with 3,000 metres of reverse circulation drilling planned initially.
Around 10 holes will be drilled to test the highest priority targets for “El Peñon type, high grade epithermal” gold mineralisation.
The current programme is expected to be finalised by the end of June and analytical data should be available in July/August.
Orosur recently said a survey, using specialist geophysics, pinpointed structures that it believes may host economic gold and silver mineralisation.
Elsewhere, the company launched a review of its San Gregorio mine in Uruguay last month after the steep fall in gold prices.
Pre-stripping work at San Gregorio was halted and, as a result, the Arenal Deeps underground mine is the mainstay of near-term production alongside the mining of reserves at Sobresaliente and Vaca Muerta later in the year.
