China Steel Australia (ASX: CNH) has been running at full production during the month of March 2010.
The company produces both nickel pig iron and merchant pig iron at its plant near the city of Linyi in China’s Shandong Province.
China Steel CEO Chen Lidong said the company’s number one blast furnace had been operating at full capacity and had customers for 100 per cent of its production.
“We are continuing to benefit from our direct exposure to the construction growth of domestic China and the positive outlook for the Chinese economy,” Chen said.
“Our number one blast furnace has been running at full capacity and recent plant upgrades have been operating as expected delivering further efficiencies.”
“The company has come through the global financial crisis in very good shape and is at an exciting stage of its development,” he added.
