Nanostart's Holmenkol expands client base for care products in Germany


anostart's portfolio company Holmenkol AG and Sabu Schuh-und Marketing have agreed to partner on shoe and textile care in the future, the companies announced on Tuesday.
Sabu, an association for the specialist shoe retail industry, will include care products bearing the 'Holmenkol' and 'feldten' brands in its central regulation, with a focus on performance-oriented products. The association looks after some 1,000 shoe stores, primarily in Germany.
Holmenkol, which makes care products for sporting goods and shoes, presented its "care series" to over 250 industry attendees at Sabu's August order event.
The company, with world headquarters in Heimerdingen near the German city of Stuttgart, is a producer of high-tech surface coatings for sporting equipment, with products relied on by professional athletes and national teams around the world.
"Supplying the approximately 1,000 shoe retailers that are members of Sabu will make an important contribution to strengthening Holmenkol’s care range," the company said in a statement.
Holmenkol CEO, Karim Grueber, commented: "We are delighted to have entered into a closer cooperation with Sabu. This will support our efforts to further expand our range of high-quality care products."
"Sabu members can benefit from an excellent care range that offers real value added in terms of performance for the end user thanks to its high level of quality."
Headquartered in Frankfurt, Germany, Nanostart provides venture capital financing for nanotechnology companies in various growth phases, with a focus on industries such as cleantech, life sciences and IT/electronics.
