Inter-Citic discovers 2 new gold zones at Dachang

Toronto-based Inter-Citic Minerals (TSE:ICI) (OTCQX-ICMTF) announced Monday that through trenching, it discovered two new at-surface gold mineralized zones at its Dachang gold project in China.

As part of its $6.3 million exploration program this year, the company has completed extensive trenching in new areas at the site. So far, it has conducted around 15,000 metres of trenching in new zones, with 8,500 metres occuring in the southeast corner of the property.

The company said that trenches in the Southeast and Southwest anomalies are new discoveries in areas with no prior drilling.
The Southeast anomaly has now been sampled through surface trenching at intervals of between 40 to 60 metres, with results indicating at least five separate parallel fault structures that have strike lengths of 800 to 1,500 metres, and remain open for expansion.

Highlights of trenching results thus far include 6.65 grams per tonne (g/t) gold over 17.00 metres in trench T-26002, and 9.00 g/t gold over 7.7 metres in trench T-31203.

Meanwhile, work on the new anomaly in the southwest is just beginning, and so far has been sampled through almost 800 metres of surface trenching.

Notable results from this area to date include 10.26 g/t gold over 3.00 metres in trench T-2110 and 9.58 g/t gold over 2.00 metres in trench T-2903.

Both the Southeast and Southwest anomalies are now in the process of being tested as part of the company's 2011 drill program, with seven drills currently operating, it said. Samples have been submitted for testing, with results still pending.

Inter-Citic is also testing the 861 Zone, an extension of known areas of mineralization, and the Acadia Zone through trenching. Both structures remain open along strike.
