Elementos targeting gold and copper with survey at Santo Domingo in Argentina

Elementos (ASX: ELT) has begun the second phase of a geological survey at the Divisoria porphyry prospect, part of the Santo Domingo project in San Juan, Argentina.

The survey will incorporate 7.2 kilometres of Induced Polarisation Pole-Dipole (IPPD) survey lines and Audio Mageto Telluric (AMT).

Results from the program, which is expected to take about two weeks to complete, will be released in January 2012.

The geophysical survey is designed to expand on results from a ground magnetometry survey, which identified a pattern of magnetic lows related to porphyry mineralisation over a larger area than that mapped on surface.

Carried out in September, the magnetometry survey indicated the presence of a large magnetic-low anomaly covering the main areas of disseminated and higher-grade vein-breccia style gold-copper mineralisation and alteration on surface.

Results from both the ground magnetometry and the IP geophysical survey will be used to identify targets for drilling.

IPPD geophysics will be used to test for chargeability anomalies in the magnetic low areas and structural arrays.

The AMT survey will be used to assess the potential for structurally controlled higher grade zones at deeper levels than the IPPD.
