Treasury Metals makes 2 new senior management appointments for Goliath Gold project

Gold explorer Treasury Metals (TSE:TML) said Wednesday it has hired Norman Bush and John Chulick to oversee the project development and exploration teams at its Goliath Gold project in Dryden, Ontario.

The company's flagship asset is the Goliath Gold Project, an advanced-stage, high-grade gold deposit near Dryden Ontario, in the Kenora Mining District.

The Kenora mining district covers more than 75,000 kilometres and extends 360 km eastward from the Manitoba border and 200 km northward from the US border. The district was historically the centre of gold production in Ontario.

Treasury Metals chief executive, Martin Walter said: "These new management appointments reflect the significant progress made in 2011 and our long-term commitment to advance the Goliath Gold Project towards production."

"We are very pleased to have people with this level of experience and credentials on our management team."

Bush – as vice president of the Goliath Gold project – will oversee the project development team with a focus on permitting, engineering, safety and environmental management systems in the short-term. Its goal is to move the project through the feasibility stage.

He will be based out of the exploration office in Dryden.

Over the course of his career, he has worked for Domtar (TSE:UFS) and Weyerhaeuser (NYSE:WY), and was general manager at MacMillan Bloedel Ltd.

With more than 25 years of experience in executive positions, he has led teams that have finished big capital projects including extensive upgrades and additions to Domtar’s pulp mill – which is located in Dryden.

The second appointee, John Chulick, brings more than 25 years worth of experience in the precious metal companies, and has held senior level roles with Aquiline and Meridian Gold.

His previous management experience includes directing surface and underground exploration at Meridian's EI Penon mine in northern Chile and he was directly responsible for building Aquiline's Navidad project into one of the world largest silver deposits.

Chulick, who has been charged with the responsibility of overseeing the exploration team, is currently on-site planning the company’s ongoing exploration strategy and program details, which is slated to be announced in the near future.

His initial capacity will be on a consulting basis, the company said, adding that Chulick is a registered geologist in the state of California.

Treasury Metals is a Canadian-based mineral exploration and development company, with a growth-oriented strategy focused on expanding its gold resources, developing its Canadian mineral properties and potentially acquiring advanced stage gold projects in the Americas.
