Lydian International brings in Armenian heavyweight as director


Gold group Lydian International (TSE:LYD) has appointed a former prime minister of Armenia to its board.
Dr Armen Sarkissian was Armenia’s PM between 1996-1997, having previously been the Armenian ambassador to the United Kingdom and a host of other European countries. He was reappointed ambassador to the United Kingdom in 1998. 
Dr Sarkissian is also founding president of think-tank Eurasia House International and has held senior advisory roles with companies such as BP, Alcatel, Telefonica and Finmeccanica as well as positions at numerous academic and economic bodies.
Gordon Wylie, Lydian’s chairman, said: "Lydian is delighted to have Dr. Sarkissian join its team. Dr. Sarkissian has a wealth of experience and is of high standing both in Armenia and internationally. His wisdom and knowledge will be extremely useful as we develop the Amulsar project into a world class gold producer."
