Aphrodite Gold unfurls wide and high grade gold intersections at Aphrodite deposit in WA

Aphrodite Gold (ASX: AQQ) has reported strong wide and high grade gold intersections from drilling on the Phi Lode at the Aphrodite Gold Deposit in Western Australia, including 8 metres at 8.61 grams per tonne (g/t) gold.

The Aphrodite Gold Deposit currently hosts a JORC Resource containing 1.03 million ounces of gold.

Gold intersections from the latest reverse circulation drilling on the Phi Lode include:

- 8 metres at 8.61g/t gold from 61 metres, including 2 metres at 30.09g/t gold, plus 42 metres at 1.82 g/t gold;
- 20 metres at 3.09g/t gold from 148 metres, including 2 metres at 17.18g/t gold;
- 41 metres at 2.57g/t gold from 205 metres, including 3 metres at 11.77 g/t gold, plus 1 metres at 29.63g/t gold; and
- 31 metres at 1.84g/t gold from 195 metres, plus 16 metres at 1.87 g/t gold from 239 metres.

The reported results are from a further ten holes for 2,194 metres drilled into the Phi Lode to a vertical depth of around 200 metres to close-up drill hole spacing in the current resource area.
The Phi Lode forms the western half of the Aphrodite Deposit.

Aphrodite Gold Director of exploration and development Leon Reisgys said, “the results continue to confirm the strength of the Aphrodite mineralised system in terms of grade and width”.

The existing JORC Resource for the Aphrodite Gold Project consists of 3.67 million tonnes at 3.83g/t gold for 451,000 ounces (Indicated) and 6.39 million tonnes at 2.83g/t gold for 582,000 ounces (Inferred), for a total of 10.06 million tonnes at 3.19g/t gold for 1,033,000 ounces.

This resource has been broken down into two domains; potential open pit (0 to 150 metres) and underground (150 to 440 metres).

Meanwhile, the company continues to move the Aphrodite deposit forward, and earlier in the month commenced a Scoping Study following positive metallurgical test work of plus 90% gold recoveries from the deposit.

The study will examine the staged development of the deposit by initial open pit mining followed by underground development of higher grade resources.

Also to be examined, the study will investigate the practicalities of utilising available nearby infrastructure close to the deposit, including processing plants.

One of the major benefits already of the Aphrodite deposit is the strategic location 75 kilometres north of Kalgoorlie and in proximity to regional gold mills in need of feedstock ore.
