ABM Resources (ASX: ABU) continues to unlock the potential of multiple lodes at the Old Pirate Northern Extensions, with more high grade hits from OPRC100021.
The latest highlights are 5 metres at 13.34 grams per tonne (g/t) gold from 80 metres, including 3 metres at 21.85g/t gold.
The reason why these hits are so significant are that they are from OPRC100021, which is the same hole as the bonanza hits from a week ago of 9 metres at 100.9g/t gold from 238 metres, including 2 metres at 413.5g/t gold.
Boosting the prospectivity of the area even higher, the hole is just 150 metres from the 2010 intersection of 5 metres at 274g/t gold.
Darren Holden, managing director, commented, “Further results once again emphasise that Old Pirate is a series of multiple lodes with some very high grade gold distributed throughout the system.
"These latest results include 5 metres averaging 13.34g/t gold which are projected to possibly link through to a 95.5g/t gold rock chip sample collected at the surface and have also increased the width of the mineralised high grade zone recently reported."
Another highlight for the company is that the newly recognised mineralisation at Old Pirate is open both along strike and down dip.
Old Pirate is noted for its coarse grained particulate gold, and the company uses a combination of standard fire-assay and screen-fire assay to test for gold.
The prospect sits within a 3 kilometre long regolith geochemistry anomaly, with the company testing various parts of the 3 kilometre trend this year.
