Silver Lake Resources to follow up historical plus 1% copper hits at Murchison

Silver Lake Resources (ASX: SLR) is looking to add copper to the company's significant gold operations at the Murchison project, which is located 600 kilometres north of Perth in Western Australia.

In an update to the market, Silver Lake outlined that diamond drilling has commenced at the Eelya Complex targeting four large electromagnetic conductors, which were located from surface geophysics.

At Hollandaire, two diamond holes have been completed, with the first hole intersecting 2 metres of massive sulphide at from 96 metres, and 0.8 metres of massive sulphide from 110 metres.

The second hole intersected 23 metres of disseminated mineralisation from around 100 metres.

Historical exploration at Hollandaire from the 1970's identified areas of gossanous outcrop with an associated electromagnetic response.

Drilling at the target delivered some interesting results and well worth follow up by Silver Lake considering the high copper price.

These results included 53 metres at 0.6% copper from 59 metres, including 17.9 metres at 1.39% copper and 3 metres at 3.05% copper, and 20 metres at 0.71% copper from 80 metres - which ended in mineralisation.

Other results included 7 metres at 1.43% copper from 131 metres, and 9 metres at 1.51% copper from 143 metres.
